OK, about 2 weeks ago I felt very down and incredibly depressed. My back was aching and my knees were hurting me too much when I stood up out of my living room chair.
I know that when I feel depressed, it’s usually got something to do with my blood sugar being higher than it should be and putting on more weight. So to make myself feel better (before I take the plunge and have surgery) I’ve used the MyNetDiary app again and started a weight loss program.
I’m not really looking at the weight loss, just going by how I feel and having been on it now for 5 days, I feel great. I have a lot more energy and I’m a lot less depressed in my outlook. In fact, after talking to the weight loss surgeon today, I’m a lot more confident too about having the operation. It’s also good for me to eat healthier food in the run up to the operation to make sure that I’m well and strong enough for it.
MyNetDiary app says I should be eating 2700 calories to lose weight but I feel that 1900 calories for me at the moment is quite enough. Any more and I’ll feel sluggish and not have a great night sleep so I’ll be documenting my daily menu now and then so you can see how I’m doing. Think documenting it online is going to be an immense help for me and may also help those of you that might be struggling with your weight loss.
Here’s today’s menu:
- 1 tub of fat free blueberry yogurt
- 1 pint of water
- 1 Costa Caramel (home machine made)
- 6 small fresh figs
- 4 Jacobs Simply Baked Mixed Seed Crispbread
- 1 sugar free orange juice
- 1/2 home made fish pie
- 20 asparagus spears
- 3 asda sweet pancakes
- lemon juice
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1 low sugar apple juice
Snacks during the day (to keep blood sugar level):
- 1 mini babybel light
- Oxo drink (made with 2 oxo and hot water)
- 2 more low sugar apple juice
Total calories for today: 1,812
I don’t feel hungry either. Blood sugar has stayed stable all day and so has my mood! YAY!
